Mountain Bear is a spacious three-bedroom apartment at Kumanote Lodge, thoughtfully designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, with 6 beds and 2 bathrooms. Ideally located right in the heart of Nozawa Onsen village and directly across from a famous natural hot spring, it offers an exceptional base for both winter and green-season stays. Village restaurants, shops, and cafés are all close by, while lift access to the slopes is within easy walking distance, making Mountain Bear both convenient and relaxing. The combination of soaking in a natural onsen and returning to the comfort of luxurious western beds ensures guests feel fully restored after each day in the mountains.
Fully renovated in 2021, the apartment features an open-plan living and dining layout in a modern Japanese style, creating a welcoming space to gather and unwind. The bedrooms are fitted with high-quality western-style beds, paired with warm, comfortable bedding and towels for a restful night’s sleep. Both bathrooms include standing showers and are stocked with complimentary organic soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer. The modern, intuitive kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size refrigerator, electric cooking range, microwave, dishwasher, rice cooker, toaster, sandwich maker, and complete cooking and dining ware, making it easy to enjoy meals at home.
Additional amenities include individual heating in each bedroom and in the living and kitchen areas, fast Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with HDMI and USB ports, and a washing machine and high-powered gas clothes dryer — ideal for drying equipment and keeping luggage light during your stay. For guests travelling with gear or staying longer, Mountain Bear also features a dedicated heated entrance and dry room. Hosts are happy to assist with arranging rentals, restaurant reservations, shopping, and local cultural activities, and for larger groups, Mountain Bear can be rented in combination with the Bear Den apartment to provide additional living space and flexibility within Kumanote Lodge.
