Bear Peak

Bear Peak is the largest apartment at Kumanote Lodge, offering a generous and well-designed space for up to 12 guests, with three bedrooms, 8 beds, and 1.5 bathrooms. Perfectly positioned in the centre of Nozawa Onsen village, it is just steps from the town’s most famous natural hot spring and within easy walking distance of the ski resort, village centre, restaurants, and shops. With its open living and dining layout, Bear Peak is especially well suited to families and groups looking to spend quality time together in a comfortable, shared space.

Fully renovated in 2025, the apartment features open-plan living areas in a modern Japanese style, paired with high-end finishes and appliances throughout. Each of the three bedrooms is fitted with luxury western-style beds and quality linens to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite, while the apartment’s bathrooms include standing showers and are stocked with complimentary organic soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer.

The modern, fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, electric cooking range, microwave, dishwasher, rice cooker, toaster, sandwich maker, and complete cooking and dining ware, making it easy to prepare meals for larger groups. Additional amenities include individual heating in each bedroom and living areas, fast Wi-Fi, a 75″ HDTV with Fire TV, and contemporary furnishings throughout. For added convenience during longer or more active stays, Bear Peak also features a heated entry and dry room, along with a washing machine and high-powered gas clothes dryer — ideal for drying gear and managing mid-stay laundry.

Hosts are happy to assist with rental arrangements, restaurant reservations, shopping, and local cultural activities, and guests are encouraged to plan restaurant bookings in advance during the peak winter season.
